CLE Episode 18: Obstination

So, I basically feel like this episode is one huge filler for Aelita angst with a random Ulrich injury and Odd detention.

Aelita must be all like, "I'm so useless and tired, and I want my mom, and the only person I feel comfortable going to for help is busy with her, the enemy." And so that affects her all the way into the Cortex like in Deja Vu and Ulrich in Swarming Attack. And then Yumi talks to her and she admits some feelings for Jeremie in front of all the others on earpiece. And finally she sees her mother in Tyron's lab, and calls out to her and she doesn't answer. Then Tyron realizes he's being watched, and disconnects them and sends ninjas while Aelita angsts again because her mother is with him, the enemy. Then Jeremie devirtualizes her and they have some kind of heartfelt conversation with promises and stuff in front of everyone else including Laura. And bam that's it.

Oh, and Ulrich has to randomly get injured and Jim give Odd a detention because he accidentally dropped Ulrich's foot or something.

Something about how narrow Ulrich/Quentin's foot is makes me all like, "Hooray Ulrich!" The only reason I can think of for why is because I also have narrow feet. Now I have to stop myself from forming a fangirl crush on Quentin's foot because as far as I know, it currently belongs to Mélanie. lol

I need English subs to come out now. In the meantime, I'm going to sleep because I've been up all night.

Actually it was because he insulted Jim behind his back. Jeremie even comments how touchy Jim can get in the next scene.

Thanks. I didn't think about that, but I guess it didn't come to mind because it was all in French and I understand maybe five phrases in French. lol

Really, though, the random injury. In the middle of all the Aelita angst. It feels so random!

YOu mean there's kinda sort of J/Aness in this episode?! YAY! Evolution has been dry of that of late....does anyone know if it's in subs yet? From the way you guys describe it, it sounds really cool!!

Yes, it's out on Daily motion. Dirtymex334 (or whatever those numbers are) has good subs.

I discovered today the in-show reason Kiwi isn't around anymore. It makes me sad and mad. Why did they wait this long to tell us exactly what happened?

It probably just took them a while to find a way to explain it in casual conversation without it seeming like it came out of nowhere.

It seems they're randomly bringing in referense of the old show (Kiwi, Sissy, etc) just to...well, bring them in. ^^: Although it'd be fun to see if they could a real dog that looked like Kiwi. ^^

This epi was good. I wanted to punch Laura in the begining, when she's all smug at Aelita's sad expression. I can't like her...I tried....I just can't.
Yumi's driving of the Skid's gotten better, and Aelita's whole "Jeremie's special to me" heartfelt thing to Yumi was so cute, even grumpy Laura smiled. GAWWWW...now if they'd just hold hands or SOMETHING... XD They're moving even slower than Yumi and Ulrich...
The Carthage scientests captured Aelita's mum, right? Maybe they brain washed her into forgetting she had a family? Dunno.
Was anyone else yelling at Jeremie in the last little scene there to take Aelita's hand or something? Although...it was in front of everybody else so maybe he was being shy....

They probably could actually. Though I doubt they ever will because animals on sets and all that wonderful stuff.

Considering the amount of times they have actually held hands, shown affection beyond mere hand-holding and all that jazz...they are moving far, far faster than Ulrich and Yumi ever did. In fact a case could be made for them being completely aware and open to each other but not being very public about it.

Or it could be the fact this is now real life and relationships and showing actual affection has therefore become really difficult to show in this show. And considering everything else that happened in the final scene, I doubt shyness would stop Jeremie.

As for my thoughts on the episode, I liked it better than Episode 17, mainly because the mission of Lyoko was not brain numbingly stupid. I did not particularly care much for the dream sequence it seemed far too surreal to work and not really connected to anything which has always what has made dream sequences so good in the past. Other than that I did not mind Aelita angsting, though I am once again left wondering what Laura contributes to anything and how Jeremie is supposed to work with her while wearing headphones.
