Not much to say about myself, been a longtime CL fan, recently rewatched seasons 1-4, but didn't like CLE.

Currently working on "The Punic Wars," starting just before episode 92 ends, rewriting Down to Earth, then selectively pilfering the good ideas from CLE, and adding an AI character of my own (Hannibal).

This doesn't exist anywhere but my head and a bit on my computer yet though, and writing advice would be appreciated.

Hiya! Glad you decided to introduce yourself and we can give you a proper welcome.
And let me be the first to tell you that you make a very wise choice in living freely in the Queendom of Jerlita. lol
(We're not that serious about shipping; it's just fun.)

Your fanfic idea sounds kind of like what I've been trying to do with my story Readon except I plan for it to have more biological weaponry type stuff and some of the major plot points as well as the title came from some dreams I had. Anyway it would probably be a good story if I were actually beyond chapter 3. ¬¬ But it helps that school here is out for the summer. I can't wait to read what you come up with.

Ping to post your stories in FF.Net you have to first create documents containing what you wrote

You can create documents in two ways,

First you can take the file on your computer and if it's a compatible file type (usually Microsoft Word or Open Office) you can turn them directly into documents (however if the story is multiple chapters or a huge amount of words I recommend you do the second way.) You will have to name the document in FF.Net (usually the name of the story or the name of the story and what chapter)

Second, you can copy and paste the words in your documents into the document maker. From your documents you can highlight chunks of text you want to input, (I usually go for a 1000 words minimum, 3000 words maximum) then you click the copy from word, input your text, do a little reformatting in case the way they put it makes it too spaced out and then just create the document.

Once you have the document created, you just go new stories and then select the documents you want in the story (and input them into it.)

FF.Net does not do a grammar or spell check so you may want someone to proofread it before you input it. (some readers are so damn picky when it comes to something they read)

There's a variety of ways you could have gotten it. The most common are posting in certain section of the forum, reaching a post milestone or maybe someone just dumped it right there for you :p

Carthage Points are currently used in the Arena and the Sector Competitions for special bonuses and rewards. They are also used to access Carthage which holds similar things but for the site as a whole.

Is there a way to get fonts to show up on ff.net?

Nope.

Italics or bold or even underline usually do the trick but if you use them frequently for something else in the story then you're probably out of luck.
