Okay, guys, what books are you reading right now? 8D

For me, I just ordered some history books. But I swear, they're the interesting kind. They really are.

I've been rereading the Lost Hero lately. But I need to finish the latest Artemis Fowl which I just can't get interested in.

I'm actually reading a book pertaining to the art of digital storytelling.

Haven't read much into it, but so far it's pretty cool.

Does reading my NaNo novel for errors and re-writing a good part of it count? If so that's what I'm doing. If not I'm reading a Fantisy novel when I'm not working on my novel or gaming.

I just finished Fruits Basket. Not really a novel, but eh. It's good.
I'm now reading The Last Dragonslayer by Jasper Fforde, who is a brilliant author (or so I've heard).

Most of the books I have read in the last twelve months are either self-improvement books or business related.

Self-improvement?

You reading because of the compulsion to improve or because you are lacking in some area?

^ Glad you're posting around the forum! And hmm, seems like an interesting book, though I don't think I could read that. How was it anyway?

And Shadows, I remember Artemis Fowl. I didn't know that they had so many books though. Last time I read that series was when the fourth book came out.

I've been reading random romance books lately. Except it's more like me downloading the free ones, deciding that there's a reason why they're free in the first place (seriously some of them are just...ugh), and then deleting the book. I want to The Night Circus though. There's so many good reviews for it and a lot of them talk about how visual the book is, so I'd really like to buy it. Plus, circuses! Who can resist a book about circuses?

My sisses have been reading the Twilight Saga now, so as a bro I am obligated to spend time with them.

So I spent it reading a couple pages in the accent of ex-pro wrestler the Ultimate Warrior.

And it was hilarious.

Must have been. But however I was reading it, I think my eyes would burn if I read Twilight. At minimum. If I was fortunate, I'd escape blinded.

Right now I'm reading two series.

And as for Artemis Fowl, I love that series! I'm dying for the last book to come out!

I need to re-read Harry Potter, and the Eragon series (for like the fourth time)

Psh, knew that forever ago. My mom and I had been dying for the next book, and we've been knowing when it would come out six months before it did XD We were dying all November and had TWO books pre-ordered.

I read that ages ago, debating on reading again. Razz

But it's like an awesome book! 8D

Twilight is my secret guilty pleasure that's really not-so-secret anymore. On the upside, you guys can be proud of me because at least I know it's terrible writing.

I read In the Woods by Tana French just yesterday. The writing is really detail-y and sort of boring (the MC is a huge fan of having long internal monologues, like really), but still interesting. I don't really know how to describe it. She's good at moving the plot along and it all sort of flows together, but there were some times when I just thought the author was being unrealistic. And then the ending (spoiler, so seriously, don't read on beyond this) — the MC never found out where Jamie and Peter had gone and what had happened to them. He also never found out how he ended up getting the blood in his shoes. It was just him angsting throughout the book, getting too attached to a psychopath, having his instincts proved wrong a million times, and the most fun thing of all...he lost the friendship of one of the three people investigating with him and lost the potential romance (and the close friendship) of the other person.

@Stella; I heard of the movie, but I didn't get to see it. It looks so interesting though! The names draw me in too. I mean, seriously, someone with the name 'August'? (I place a lot of (maybe undue) importance on names, personally) That is just awesome beyond awesome. It's perfect too, since I'm sort of in the book-searching phase right now. I actually dorkily spent an hour looking for books to read on Shelfari today, but couldn't come up with anything that I really wanted to read. Of course, to get it at the school library, I'll have to make myself go searching for my overdue book. I'm really hoping that it's not lost.

Title: The curious incident of the dog in the night-time

Author: Mark Handon

Illustrator: Mark Handon (yes he do draw the pictures on the book)

What the is the book about?

Christopher John Francis Boone, is a 15 years old boy who has autism gifted with great knowledge with mathematics and sciences. He found that his neighbourhood dog has been murdered, he is trying to investigate who had kill it.

What have you learn from the book?

I learn that being disabled and people often call you a weirdo, he persevered and don't give up until he found who is the killer was and it was a good example and show how strong he was even though the path if very rough.

How do you find it and why?

Very Good, Good, Neutral, Bad, Very Bad

Reason

It is a really good book and kinda of fun to see how autism think and lived. although the book might contain some cursing which is okay and some of the parts scared me to death and he teaches some mathematics and sciences in the story and puzzles.
I cried some of the part of the book because I feel kinda of sad for him or a happy ending.

Do you recommend this book to your friends/families

Yes/No

Edit

I would like someone to change the title to Book Reviews or something related to books and stuff because i don't know what books are the members are talking about.I don't understand and i would to see people do proper reviews on their Favorited books.

"The curious incident of the dog in the night-time"! I love this book! The point of view it presents is really mind-opening. I recommend it to anyone. Smile
As far as my recent books are concerned... just finished George Martin's Storm of Swords part 1 and looking for Part 2... Overall, I enjoyed it. The world of A Song of Ice and Fire is amazingly complex and the characters are so diverse...
Being inspired by the movie trailer, I also bought Hunger Games... and read it in one day. Very Happy

@Felin; roughly half of the people in this thread have posted the title of the book they're reading. The other half have posted what genre of books they're reading and other reading related posts. I really like the idea of having all of these in this thread because to be honest, I'm just way too lazy to review sometimes (and when I say sometimes, I really mean 99.99% of the time). This thread is also here to encourage recommendations, discussions about books (Twilight bashing is popular here, isn't it...), etc.

The book you just reviewed looks like a fun read though. And thank you for being great enough to do XL's first ever book review (it feels pretty cool saying that). Reviews are always encouraged! Smile
