XL Asylum

PK, still unconscious, saw a white light above her.  She covered her eyes, as it was extremely bright.  She then heard a whisper.

"PK?" The whisper asked.  "PK?"

"Who's there?" She asked.  "Who are you?"  The whisper from the light sounded familiar.   It reminded her of someone she knew long ago.

"It's been a while." The voice said.

"Dad?"

Jonathon walked down the hallway back to the dining hall with Erica, he was holding her hand as they have always done so long ago, but to everyone else she wasn't there, he was just holding hands with the air.

As he walked in he saw an older man standing over PK, they both appeared to be crying happily. 

"Hey, who's that?"

"That's PK's dad," Erica told me, "PK can see him because he showed himself to her, but you can see him simply because you can. Only you two knows he's here."

"Oh, alright, i'll keep that in mind."

---------------------What everyone else sees-------------------

"Hey who's that."

There's a very long pause.

"Oh, alright, I'll keep that in mind."

"It wasn't your fault, PK." her dad said. 

"But, I let you die." She replied, crying.

"You didn't son." he told her.  "You didn't let me die.  You did what you had to so that innocents may live."

"Why are you here?" She asked him.

"I know you wanted to fix your life to begin a new." He answered.

"Is that what happened to me?"

"I wasnt expecting this to happen." He said.  "But, I tried to help.  I've been watching you since my passing and I know things didn't work out after the under cover assignment.   But, things will be better for you in the future."

"Dad, I'm so sorry." She cried.  

"It's not your fault."

Jonathon took Erica's hand again and squeezed it.

"Let's head back to the storage room and keep looking for a heat source. I don't like intruding on their moment." he said.

"Yeah, I agree. Let's go." she said.

As she started to walk she suddenly felt a large swinging motion. The next thing she knew Jonathon was bridal carrying her down the hall

"TYLER!," she said laughing, "you know I don't like being carried."

"And you know I don't care," he said then kissed her.

"Listen to me, PK." her dad instructed.  "I can take the anger and the sadness away."  PK snuffed. 

"How?" She asked, wiping her tears.

"Lift up your shirt." He told her.  Without question, she did, only revealing her belly, which revealed an old wound.  He covered the wound in one hand and PK's heart in the other.

"Close your eyes, PK." he instructed.  She did so slowly.  She then heard humming sounds and felt a little bit of pain where the wound was.  Then it startec to hurt bad, her heart also aching.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" She screamed.

Jonathon heard a scream penetrate down the hallway.

"What's going on?" he asked Erica who still hung in his arms.

"You don't want to know." she said hugging him closer.

Kelly, who'd been standing there with a dumbfounded look on her face the whole time, shook her head. She was used to dumb antics. She was used to irrational things that should-not-be-happening. She was used to craziness. After all, the reason why she'd been put in this asylum was because her parents thought she was crazy. Turned out finishing the senior year with a bang was not an acceptable excuse for stealing an ostrich. "You're all crazy," she muttered. "I'm going to go to the rec room with Liz, and, uh...Jeremie." She gave a halfhearted wave at the room's remaining occupants and headed towards the rec room.

"hey, i found a bunsen burner!" Erica called over to Tyler.

"Great! toss it over here!" he said.

"......seriously, Tyler?" she said.

"oh....sorry, forgot." he walked over and picked it up.

"sometimes, you just seem so real i forget," he said jokingly, he kissed her before she could respond. She completely forgot what snarky comment she was going to make.

Kelly reached the rec room. "Finally," she said. "Some peace and quiet."

[I forget who's in the rec room or not, sorry, so I'm not mentioning any names yet]

"You keep doing that, I'd like to be able to talk everyone once in awhile," she says smiling.

"Well if I didn't then we'd have had a fight along time ago, I prefer it this way since we've never had a fight." he said hugging her, hangs wrapped around her lower back, looking directly into her hazel eyes.

"You're right, I like it this way too." she closed her eyes and leaned up and kissed him.

"If anyone came in here right now, they'd think I was completely insane." he said laughing.

"You've been insane ever since I met you," she said also laughing, "now come one, a bunsen burner doesn't help without something to catch the steam in." 

She took his hand and dragged him off to another section of the storage room.

Liz and Jeremie went to the rec room and spotted Kelly. Liz waved to Kelly. "Hey, want to do a jigsaw puzzle with us?"

"Hey Erica, I found a hollow glass sphere...ish thing and a glass tube, we could use them as the boiling section and the vapor tube." he said.

"Hey Tyer," she said.

"yeah?"

"I failed chemistry and i really have no idea what you're talking about so i'm just gonna trust you on this one." she said.

".....right, okay then, yes, this will work"

"whatever you say, honey."

Liz picked out a one thousand piece jigsaw puzzle of the Eiffel Tower. "How about this one, Jeremie? Should make you feel right at home?" she said, jokingly.

"Very funny," Jeremie said, smiling back at her. "That one will work fine."

Liz brought the puzzle over to the table and sat it down. "Before you say it, I know. Edge pieces first."

If others were watching this unfold, Liz would be talking to herself.

Jonathon walked back to the dining hall with one arm holding the equipment they had found, the other holding Erica's.

"Hey everyone! I found some equipment that can be used for distilling, we'll need more but's it a start!," he called out.

"Hey, Love." she started.

"Yes, what is it?" he asked.

"....I've got the feeling not many of them care." she said.

".....you're probably right"

"of course I am, I'm always right, you know that better than anyone," she said smiling as she held onto my arm.

"hahaha, yeah. I haven't forgotten about that." he chuckled.

Everyone just heard his part of the conversation and they didn't know about her yet, so he looked really weird.

For PK, everything was quiet now.  The pain stopped, her worries were somehow gone.  She looked up at him.

"The pain's gone." He told her.  "The pain is gone."

"Dad...." 

"I have to go now, PK." he said. 

"Dad, you can't.   Not now." PK replied.  "What if I need you?"

"PK, I'll always be with you." Her dad replied.  "No matter what, I'll always be with you."  PK started to cry.

"Dad, I love you." She told him.  He started to cry, too.

"I love you too."   He hugged her and cried with her as Peace watched with a smile on his face,

Kelly brightened when she spotted Liz. "Finally! Someone sane." She walked over and stood there looking lost. "A jigsaw puzzle sounds fun. Where's Jeremie sitting? I, uhh, don't want to sit on him again."

Jonathon walked in to the rec room after a long period of equipment hunting. 

"Don't worry, Kelly, Jeremie is in the seat right next to Liz, so just don't sit there."

Jonathon and Erica plopped down on the couch right next to each other and snuggled slightly, of course, no one else knew Erica was there and could only see an open spot on the couch.

Liz nodded. "Yeah, what Jonathon said. Start with the edge pieces first, Kelly. Jeremie and I find that easier."

"Oooh, jigsaw puzzles! I love jigsaw puzzles," he said as he and Erica started helping Liz and Jeremie.

"No, that one doesn't go there, stinkbrain." Erica said to Jonathon.

"yeah, yeah, i realized that, it does go here though." he said.

"no it doesn't," she said blatantly.

"....okay, you're right it doesn't"

WHAT OTHERS SEE

"Ooh, jigsaw puzzles! I love jigsaw puzzles!"

"Yeah, yeah i realized that, it does go here though"

...........

"....okay you're right, it doesn't"

"You okay?" Peace asked PK.

"I feel.... great." PK replied, stunned.  "I can't believe that happened. "

"Good to see good old dad." Peace added.  "He was a great father."  PK smiled.

"He was the best in the whole world."

"You wanna join the others in the rec room?" Peace asked.

"Why not." PK replied, relieved.

Kay walked into the rec room, "anything interesting happening in here? I zoned out again so I have no idea what's happening."

Liz looked over at Jonathon. "You're doing it wrong. Edge pieces first." She sighed and looked over at Jeremie. "No one listens but you."

Kelly sat on the other side of Liz. Spotting Kay, she waved. "We're doing a puzzle! Want to join? Edge pieces first."

"And don't sit on Jeremie," Liz said looking at the chair beside here where she imagined Jeremie sitting.

"Sure sounds great," Kay said walking over to them, "and don't worry, I won't sit on Jeremie, " she smiled at the seemingly empty chair next to Liz.
