Arrival

Liz stepped through the gates of Kadic Academy and looked around her surroundings and her new home. Being and orphan, she bounced from relative to relative not staying long enough to make friends. She hoped she would make friends at Kadic, even though she didn't speak much French. She sighed, trying to ask people where the principal's office was.

Jake stood at the front, greeting the new kids arriving at Kadic.  He looked at Liz and temporarily left the gate to approach her. 

"Welcome to Kadic, Ms." Jake greeted.  "Are you looking for the Principal's Office?"

Jonathon ran up to the gate quickly not to far behind.

Crap, crap, crap. I'm gonna be late. He thought to himself after having slept in that morning. It was his first day going to Kadic and Mr. Delmas had told him to be there at 8:00 so Jim could give him a tour. 

He reached the gate breathing heavily.

He glanced at the new kid, still engaged with Liz in a conversation.

Jonathon catches his breath and tries to get someone's attention. He walks over to a little group of two kids talking to each other. 

Jonathon wrote:Hi... ummm, i'm new and I'm looking for someone named Jim? I think he's supposed to give me a tour.

"You're new as well?"  Jake smiled.  "Since yiu two are looking for the Principle's Office, just head into the main building.  You'll come across it there.  Jim should be there as well, seeing as they are....decent friends."

Oh, okay. Thanks ^_^

Jonathon looks over at the girl.

You wanna join me? 

Liz smiled and nodded. Finally, someone who speaks English. "Sure, but I don't know if I will be able to communicate with Jim and Mr. Delmas very well. I don't speak much French."

Oh good point, neither do I. But.... if you wait just a sec

Jonathon ruffles through his bag for something

Ah, here it is, my handy dandy translator, it here's what someone says in one language, and then tells you what they said in another. And visa-versa. I'll set it to French and English

Jonathon hits a few buttons on the screen.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand we're all set ^_^

Liz smiles. "Thanks. This should be helpful." She takes the translator. "Now, if only I knew which way to go."

Jonathon walks over to a student who looks nice enough. 

Hi, i was wondering if you could give me directions to the Principal's office.

Salut, je me demandais si vous pouviez me donner des instructions au bureau du directeur.

The translator spits out what sounds like jibberish, but the nice looking boy in the blue sweater simply looks up from the laptop he had and pushed his glasses back onto his face. He smiled and said,

Boy wrote:Pas de problème, c'est dans le bâtiment principal dans le couloir. Ce sera la troisième porte sur la gauche.

No problem, it's in the main building down the hall. It will be the third door on the left.

The translator says mechanically.

Merci.

But the boy was already typing away at his laptop again, he typed frantically as if it were really important. 

It isn't like it's a matter of life or death, Jonathon thought jokingly to himself.

Liz looked up the boy with the glasses. He's cute. Then she remembered that she needed to see the principal. She headed over to the building in question, looking over at the blond boy typing on his laptop. "Must be important," she muttered to herself.

As Jonathon headed down the hall in the main building with Liz, he could over-hear shouting coming from the door that was supposed to be the Principal's office. He couldn't tell what they were saying, but he could hear 3 voices. One sounded stern and professional, another sounded rough and angry, the other just sounded really high pitched and bored. Eventually a weird looking blonde boy with a purple patch on his head walks out of the room like he had something better to do. He was dressed in all purple.

Who was that guy?

 Jonathon looks over at Liz with a curious expression.

"That's Odd Della Robbia." Jake answered.  Jake followed the two, as he also had business with the Principle. "He's the Lady's Man of Kadic.  Well.... sorta."

"Ah, okay", Jonathon said, "he also seems to get in trouble a lot."

Jonathon looked back down the hall and gasped at some movement in Odd's backpack.

Is that a........no, there's no way! yep, that's a dog in his pack.

Jonathon shook his head smiling to himself and walked into the office.

Liz sat down outside the principal's office, waiting her turn. She spotted the blond boy in purple walk by. She was so nervous. How was she supposed to get along?

Jonathon sat down in the other chair next to Liz, he looked over and saw how nervous she was.

"Hey," he said, grabbing her attention, "don't worry, you'll do great!" He said with a cheery expression. He didn't want to show here that he felt worse than she did.

Jake took out his PDA from his back pocket and flipped through some word documents  uploaded from the computer. 

"Well, so much for studying." he said to himself, walking out of the main building.  "All of these documents have the same information as my first draft."  Jake was shocked.

Liz smiled nervously. "It's not that. I don't know if I'll make any friends around here."

Jonathon sighed heavily.

"I know what you mean, I've got the same problem.", he thought for a moment, "...but hey! You've already made one friend! Me!"

Liz frowned in thought. "True. I guess one friend is better than none."

"awwwww, come on. Cheer up" ^_^

"Here, tell you what, i'll be right back"

Jonathon stands up and runs off quickly

Liz looks up at Jonathan with a puzzled look. "Where are you going? Aren't you before me in seeing Mr. Delmas?"

After awhile, Jonathon comes running back holding something behind his back.

"Dun duh duh duh duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh!" Jonathon hums the fanfair.

He takes his arms out from behind his back to reveal two ice cream cones in his hands.

"Here you go," he says smiling as he hands one to Liz.

Jake just witnessed the whole thing and was amazed, yet, confused.

"The hell was that?" he asked himself.  He shrugged his shoulders and went back to being irritated by his PDA.  "WHAT THE....
