XaJuWriMo 2014

I want to host XaJuWriMo from 1-30 July 2014.

What is XaJuWriMo, you ask?

It's like NaNoWriMo, only fewer words (and thus less daunting!) and explicitly Code Lyoko related! Basically you can write about whatever the heck you want as long as it's Code Lyoko related (with a couple of rules as well).

• Minimum word count is 25,000. You can go above it if you story goes beyond it.
  
• The story must be continuous. You can have a story and its sequel, but it shouldn't be a bunch of unrelated oneshots or drabbles.
  
• The story should be a new idea (as in, something you haven't written before). But if you really can't think of something new to write about, you can use this as a chance to catch up on one of your other Code Lyoko fanfictions. If you want it to still qualify for XaJuWriMo, though, then all 25,000 words should be used on it.
  
• There will be three things posted throughout the month that you MUST include in your story.
  
• If you reach 25,000 words and your story still isn't finished, that's totally okay! At least you have a great start on your new story, and hopefully you'll have the drive to continue/finish it even after XaJuWriMo is over! Just make sure those 25,000 words with the three plot twist things are published by 23:59 on 31 July.

I’m in!!! I was about to start a new story this weekend…but I can hold off on it until July! It’ll give me a chance to double check some plot points in CLE to make sure my idea fits…

I know I'm new (I will admit I only signed up for the Drabble challenges but XD) I wanna do this.

I'd suggest you start your plans for the plot and everything now, if you haven't already, and write a few practice scenes if you're using new characters or doing an AU of some sort.

I suggest that, as part of your sketches to get into writing for next month and everything, you write scenarios that are NOT going to happen in your stories, especially if it's something you're not sure on how you're going to execute.

For example, one of my story ideas has a part where Jim has to go under hypnosis. I don't know how I'm going to write that, so I'm going to write the scene several times in ways that I know for sure is not going to happen, and maybe I'll figure out how it is going to go. Like, there's not going to be a whole bunch of probes hooked up to his head that eventually hypnotise him into killing the prime minister of Malaysia when he hears the song "Relax" while at the fashion show for Mugatu's new line "Jimstones".

If that did happen, he’d probably rather not talk about it…lol!

Hey while we're at it, what's the rules for uploading. Every week, every day, or at the end of the month and where? (Sorry, I never participated in the original NaNoWriMo so....Idiot.)

I think the only rule is that you can’t actually post your story here. You need to post it somewhere else (like FF.net) & post a link here…

I'd prefer it if you uploaded your story somewhere else and then posted a link here. Posting the stories here directly makes for a big mess and slower loading times.

Prompt/twist/thing 1:

A Momentous Decision.

The protagonist must make a decision that will have dire consequences for him/herself, his/her antagonist, or someone close to him/her/the antagonist.

Some considerable thought should be put into this.

I've been watching lots of Star Trek TOS lately so now I have lots of crossover plotbunnies... which happens to conveniently coincide with my second plot twist thing.  I might as well release it.

Plot Twist #2: Cameo
Everybody loves their favorite characters.  Somewhere, have your favorite character from your second favorite fandom (because Code Lyoko is your top favorite, of course ) make an appearance.  How big a role they have in the story is up to you.  It can be as little as you see them in the cafe buying coffee while your characters happens to be tending the restaurant or a wrong number/buttdial.  It can be as big as they save your character's life from imminent doom.

I’m more familiar with Next Generation than the Original Series, but a Star Trek crossover sounds like an amazing idea!
