General Chat 2014

It probably didn't help my situation much.  And my voice has been gone for three days now.
But it was sure fun as hell.  Cept the part where I acted like a total idiot in front of this guy I really like.
But that's a whole other mess, cause I can't be with this guy and idk how to react

Be yourself. That's probably the most cliché advice I can give, but it's true. Being comfortable being yourself is how you become comfortable being around guys too. (At least it has worked for me.) Sorry to hear about your voice. Hope you feel better, Cya!

Oh, well, the problem isn't getting his attention or even trying to get him to be attracted to me.  The issue is, I don't WANT to be in a relationship with him and I don't want to even like him.  He's crazy, it'd end really badly.
So I'm trying to subtly act like I like him while screaming at myself internally to back the f**k down.

Everytime I see people having relationship issues, I'm glad I talked myself into never wanting a relationship.
At that cost though, I really have no idea how to give advice on the matter either. I understand that these feelings aren't easily controlled, from what I've seen and had confided in me in the past.

Well I've screwed up.
I was supposed to be meeting two friends after school today.  One happens to be the guy I like and the other is a good friend.
But the friend, who was arranging things, couldn't get a ride for us, so we weren't gonna be able to go, and I got really upset.
At first I didn't say anything except monosyllabic responses like 'oh' 'ok' 'alright', but my friend kept asking if I was ok, so I got really upset at him.
So then he jumps through a bunch of hoops to get a ride, and says
"So you're going to get to hang out with (the guy I like) hope that makes your day better."
He followed that up a few seconds later, saying "Don't worry about it, sorry to have bothered you."
So I'm pretty sure he feels like I'm using him to hang out with the other guy, but he won't admit that's how he's feeling, so I can't really argue with him.

Update, now he says he doesn't even want to come.

I also don’t have any experience with romance, but I think you’re doing the right thing. You’ll probably get over him eventually, but until then you just have to ride it out…

Update on that, I was a terrible friend and ignored him all night to shamelessly hang on the guy I like.
Then I spent the whole next day with my friend, and he said he had a really good day, but my other friends said I'm probably sending him mixed signals, cause they think I'm acting flirty to both guys.
I'm pretty sure neither are interested, specially since the guy I do like set me up with another one of his friends.
Also my friend recently went through a sh*tty breakup and his ex doesn't want him hanging out with me, except now he's pissed as f*ck at her and wants to get back together with her just so that he can leave her with absolutely nothing.
And I'm trying to convince him that's a bad idea.

While that's all playing out, I got an application due Thursday, I need to write a story for tomorrow, brush up a 20 pages story for Thursday, I have a big test tonight, two meetings today, and a quiz on Monday, plus I need to edit my Spanish essay for tomorrow and write up several worksheets for Thursday.
Also have to attend two events, one on Thursday, one on Saturday, and write papers on both of those.

HAHAHAAHA kill me

Everybody who I hear from who's in school is absolutely miserable, and my parents wonder why I don't want to go to College.
It is true I need a job though, so.. not all is great.
Also, things they don't teach you in school- how to actually go through the process of getting a driver's license.

Oh college has been fun.  I just like to complain

Get a good job. I worked at a water park over the summer for my first job, and I worked with a lot of cool people. The people you work with will influence how your time at the job goes.

There are a lot of benefits to college, but it’s pretty easy to be miserable when you’re buried under a pile of work…lol

Depending on your chosen field, you may not need to go to college. I went for one semester, realized I hate coding, and moved back home, and now have a job with the county doing IT. I'm gettting technical certificates, and my next job will be approximately 65-70k starting.

If you really think about it, it’s kind of stupid to expect anybody to decide what they’re going to do for the rest of their life when they’re 18…You just kind of have to take a leap of faith…

Things are doing the weird thing where they're looking up (new friends I can hang out with, secured a job for the break) but also spiraling out of control (helloooooo sh*tty grades).
Ah the college life.  Can't wait for it to be over.  Maybe I'll go get drunk or something.

I've really enjoyed college. Just finished up another semester and I only have one more to go before I graduate. You get out of college whatever you put into it: relationships, grades, experiences, etc. The same can be said about any life experience, I think. I think it's also about finding a balance. I don't know, I think college life depends on the person. Also, good luck to anyone still taking exams!

More and more people return each day. Maybe if this trend continues up until spring, this place will get up and going again.
